LIVE Official Rules
These Official Rules ("Rules") govern participation in and prizes for "LIVE in Japan" (the "Contest"), the live quiz in the AI Hunt app. You also agree to these Rules in the app before reserving a spot. If the Japanese version and this translation differ, the Japanese version prevails.
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. The Contest is free to enter. The app has no in-app purchases, and nothing you buy lets you enter or gives you an advantage. Watching or tapping ads is not a condition of entry and has no effect on results or prize amounts.
Apple is not a sponsor of, and is not involved in, this contest in any way.
Google LLC is not a sponsor of, and is not involved in, this contest in any way.
1. Sponsor
The Contest is organized and the prizes are provided by NAMINOL合同会社 (NAMINOL LLC; address: Miyamasuzaka Building 609, 2-19-15 Shibuya, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo 150-0002, Japan; the "Sponsor" or "we"). Contact: AI Hunt campaign office, [email protected]
2. Eligibility
You may enter if you meet all of the following:
- You live in Japan, declared Japan as your country of residence in the app, and access the app from inside Japan when you play (the access country is determined from your IP address; you may not disguise it with a VPN or similar).
- You are 18 or older (you declare this when reserving).
- You are signed in with an Apple or Google account.
- You agree to these Rules.
One account per person. Only one person may join a given LIVE game from one account and one device. Officers and employees of the Sponsor and anyone involved in running the Contest may not enter. People who are not eligible can still watch. If we later find that a player was not eligible, that player's win and prize are void.
3. Schedule
- Prizes are paid by the Sponsor from a prize pool that the Sponsor funds with part of the app's ad revenue. We never collect money from players. When the pool reaches its target, a LIVE game is scheduled. The target and the next prize amount are shown in the app.
- The game is scheduled at least 24 hours after it is decided, between 20:00 and 22:00 Japan time, and announced in the app and by push notification.
- The lobby opens 10 minutes before the start. Entry closes at the start time; you cannot join after that.
4. How to play and how winners are decided
- In the app, open "LIVE in Japan", agree to these Rules, reserve a spot, and enter the lobby before the start.
- Every player gets the same video at the same time and answers whether it is AI or REAL within the time limit (8–10 seconds for questions 1–15; longer for questions 16 onward, which include a prediction). The deadline is judged by server time, and the timer starts when the video reaches your device.
- Questions 1–15 may use videos that have already appeared in the app's regular feed. From question 16 on, only unreleased videos prepared for the LIVE are used.
- Questions 16–20 are "read-the-room" questions. In addition to AI / REAL, you predict what share of the players still in the game will answer AI, choosing one of five bands (0–20%, 20–40%, 40–60%, 60–80%, 80–100%). The correct band is the share of surviving players who answered that question and chose AI (boundary values go to the upper band).
- A wrong answer or no answer eliminates you. In read-the-room questions, getting either the verdict or the prediction wrong eliminates you. Eliminated players can keep watching.
- There are up to 20 questions. Everyone who answers all 20 correctly is a winner. The number of winners is not fixed in advance and may be zero or more than one. If you disconnect and return before that question's deadline, you can continue.
- The correct answer to each question (whether the video was made with AI or actually filmed) is set by us before the game, based on where the video came from.
5. Prizes
- The total prize for a game is the amount shown in the app when the game is scheduled (including any carryover). We will not reduce the total after the game is scheduled.
- The total is split equally among winners. Fractions of a yen are rounded down and the remainder rolls into the next prize pool. However, each winner can receive up to JPY 499,999 per LIVE game. If an equal share would exceed this, the excess carries over to the next LIVE game’s prize.
- If every player is eliminated before question 20, no prize is paid and the full amount is added to the total for the next LIVE game (carryover). The next total, including the carryover, is shown in the app when the next game is scheduled.
- Prizes are delivered in the app as an Amazon.co.jp gift card number (e-mail type) of the same amount as the prize. Prizes cannot be exchanged for cash or other prizes and cannot be transferred.
- Odds of winning depend on the number of players and their answers and cannot be stated in advance.
6. Verification and claiming
- After each game the Sponsor reviews and approves the results (winners, amounts, any suspected fraud) before prizes are confirmed. Claims may be held while suspected fraud is reviewed; if so, we will tell you in the app or by email.
- Winners claim prizes on the Prizes screen in the app. Before claiming, you declare that you are 18 or older and live in Japan. When your cumulative claims reach JPY 10,000, you verify your identity once with an ID document through Stripe Identity. You cannot claim if you are under 18, do not live in Japan, or the claim is a duplicate by the same person.
- The claim period is 30 days from the day after the game. We remind you 7 days and 1 day before the deadline. Unclaimed prizes expire and roll into the next prize pool. If you could not claim because of a failure on our side, such as a system outage, we will extend the deadline.
7. Taxes
In Japan, contest prizes are "occasional income" (ichiji shotoku) of the winner (Income Tax Act art. 34). A special deduction of up to JPY 500,000 per year applies to the total occasional income, and half of the remainder is taxable. Salaried people whose non-salary income is JPY 200,000 or less a year may not need to file a return (a separate local tax filing may still be needed). Gift cards are valued at face value. Winners are responsible for reporting and paying any taxes; please ask your tax office or a tax accountant for details.
If we must file a payment record (shiharai chosho) with the tax office, for example because the prizes paid to one person in a year exceed the statutory amount, we may ask for your name, address and Individual Number (My Number). If a single prize exceeds JPY 500,000, we may withhold income tax as required by law.
8. Disqualification and cancellation
- If we determine on reasonable grounds that a player used multiple accounts, automation, tampered with the app or traffic, misrepresented residence or location, colluded, or otherwise cheated, the player is disqualified and the prize is cancelled. Cancelled prizes roll into the next prize pool.
- If a game cannot run properly because of system failure, natural disaster or other unavoidable reasons, we may cancel or postpone it. The full prize for a cancelled game rolls over to the next LIVE game. Cancellations and postponements are announced in the app.
9. Personal information
Information collected for entry and claims is handled under the Privacy Policy. The leaderboard shows only rank, an anonymous display name, total prizes won and number of wins; it never shows phone numbers, names or email addresses.
